As a counseling psychologist, Shital has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults. She has been the visiting psychologist for R.A. Podar College, SIES Commerce College, and D.G. Ruparel College. She has conducted many workshops in various educational institutes such as Walia College, MCC College, Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, and the IIT Mumbai for students, teachers as well as parents. She has led and supervised the Self Development Cell of R.A. Podar College since 2003.

Her deep belief that our ancient Bharatiya Samskrti is a way of life to be pursued and benefited from has led her to pursue studies in spiritual, philosophical & meditative disciplines, and she has been long since on the path of fully integrating Indic Knowledge to her therapeutic practice. She is also an expert in personality assessments & psychometric evaluations and has been a senior psychologist at Psychometrica Pvt. Ltd and Career Pathways, where she has been instrumental in developing varied assessment tools for children and adults.

A prolific writer, Shital has widely written on mental health, parenting, and related topics. Her articles have featured in leading dailies and magazines such as The Times of India, The Mind Diaries, Complete Wellbeing, Theosophical Digest and so on. She featured as a weekly columnist in the leading daily, DNA and as a fortnightly columnist in Yuva Sakal. She has authored ‘Pashu Neeti’, a monthly newsletter of Disha, showcasing wisdom from the animal kingdom. A poet who writes in 3 languages, her poems have been published in various magazines & forums. She has also published a tri-lingual anthology titled ‘Do Kavitayein’.

A seasoned classical danseuse, she holds a ‘Sangeet Alamkar’ in Bharatanatyam. She has won National titles like ‘Singar Mani’ and ‘Natyamayuri’, is a graded artiste of the Doordarshan, and the recipient of the prestigious “Central Government Scholarship” awarded by the Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of India.

Leaning towards ‘seva bhava’, Shital co-founded Saaraakassh Trust in 2015, working for the betterment of tribal lives in Maharashtra focusing on Education, Health & Mental Health and Sanitation. One main initiative undertaken is “Pudchi Peedhi, Pudcha Paaul” which literally means ‘the next step of the next generation’, which uses story-telling, dance, music, games, role play and many other activities to build better life skills in the tribal children for a better & Atmanirbhar Bharat.
