As a psychologist, Shital's forte lies in personality assessments, psychometric evaluations, individual counseling and therapy. She has considerable experience in child, adolescent, marriage as well as family psychotherapy. Shital has extensive experience in conducting workshops and training and has worked with various populations like children, adolescents, parents, working employees, teachers, social workers and so forth. She is also experienced in competency mapping & assessment and development centers.
A prolific writer, Shital has often been invited to write on mental health, parenting, and other related topics for well known magazines and newspapers such as The Times of India, DNA, Complete Wellbeing, Gokulam, Theosophical Digest, Aspirations as well as regional newspapers like Sakal.
A firm believer in continuous learning, Shital believes in constantly upgrading her skills. Hence in the course of her career, she has also undergone specialized training programs in REBT, Art therapy, Play therapy, Dance Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and so forth. She is currently getting trained from the California Hypnosis Institute of India (CHII), and has already completed her Basic Course in Integrated Clinical Hypnosis and is a Master Hypnotist.
She has also completed the Clinical Course on assessment of Dyslexia and Reading Disorders by Ms. Susan Lowell, Vice President, The International Dyslexia Association. She recently participated in the 4th World Congress on ADHD, held in June 2013, in Milan, Italy where Disha Counseling Center presented a paper on the 'Misconceptions and Knowledge of Mumbai School Teachers on ADHD
Shital is also a post graduate in Classical dance [Bharatanatyam] from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and has won many National titles like 'Singar Mani', 'Nritya Shivali and Natyamayuri for excellence in the field of dance. As an accomplished Bharatnatyam danseuse, she constantly strives to combine her two interests; of psychology and dance. She has done a research project on dance and movement therapy and aims to further enrich her experience and knowledge in using dance for therapeutic purposes.
